Purpose

To provide Beacon Hill residents with a local hub of stories, business profiles, and event recaps that reinforce our role as community leaders and trusted neighbours.

Step 1: Identify Content

  • Business Profiles

    • Local restaurants, shops, service providers.

    • Prioritize businesses that also engage with or support community events.

  • Event Recaps

    • Neighbourhood events (movie nights, Ice Cream Day, Canada Day fireworks, cleanups).

    • Share photos, stories, and thank-yous.

  • Community Stories

    • Highlight local schools, sports teams, or resident initiatives.

    • Tie into seasonal rhythms (spring sports, holiday markets, etc.).

Step 2: Draft Content

  • Marketing or Realtor gathers basic info:

    • For businesses: Name, owner’s story, offerings, contact info.

    • For events: Who attended, highlights, impact on the community.

    • For stories: Who’s involved, why it matters to Beacon Hill.

  • Draft a short, clear article (300–600 words).

  • Include 2–4 photos (team, business owner, event highlights).

  • End with a CTA: visit, support, follow us, or share.

Step 3: Approvals

  • Marketing reviews for style, grammar, and brand alignment.

  • Visionary/Integrator gives final approval before publishing.

Step 4: Publish on Website

  • Log into WordPress backend (nickfundytus.ca/BeaconHill).

  • Create new post:

    • Add title: clear and descriptive (e.g., “Beacon Hill Spotlight: Atwill Service Centre”).

    • Add body content (formatted with headings and bullet points).

    • Upload photos (resize for web, add alt text).

    • Add metadata/SEO tags (keywords, excerpt, category = Beacon Hill).

    • Include internal links to related content (previous profiles, event recaps).

  • Save draft → publish once approved.

Step 5: Promote Content

  • Share article link in:

    • Beacon Hill Businesses & Professionals Facebook Group.

    • Team social channels (Instagram, FB page, LinkedIn).

    • Monthly or seasonal mailer (stacking effect).
