What Information Does Wikiful Collect?
In order to sign up for a Wikiful account, we require you to provide a username, a valid email address, and a password.
You have the ability to choose whether your wiki will be private or public.
If your wiki is private, we will not access it unless you submit a service ticket or otherwise grant us access. However, anonymized general data about private wikis may be used for general site analytics purposes.
If your wiki is public, any information contained in that wiki is accessible to the public and viewable by anyone who visits your wiki.
We won’t sell any user’s information. However, we may feature public wikis in marketing and advertising materials.
Wikiful’s servers and select third-party services such as Google Analytics and AdSense log some information whenever you access the Service — information such as your IP address, the time of your visit, your browser type and your browser's language setting.
If you send a communication to the Company, we may hold onto that communication so that we can respond appropriately, and so that we can incorporate your feedback to improve the Service.
Wikiful stores your wiki content (including text, images, maps, links, etc.) on secure servers, and this information can only be accessed according to the privacy settings you have selected for your wiki.
We collect information with the purpose of giving users a high-quality and personalized experience on our site.
We collect your registration and user profile data. Our servers also collect information used to make the website run faster and better.
If your wiki is private, we will not access it without your consent. If your wiki is public, it’s viewable by anyone who visits your wiki. You can change your wiki’s privacy settings at any time.
We don’t sell user information, period. We do collect some basic information via Google Analytics, AdSense, etc. And we may highlight cool public wikis in our marketing materials.
Online Behavioral Advertising.
You can opt-out of receiving personalized ads from advertisers and ad networks that are members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) or who follow the DAA Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising using their respective opt-out tools. The NAI's opt-out tool can be found here http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ and the DAA's opt out tool can be found here http://www.aboutads.info/choices/. Note that opting-out does not stop information from being collected. However, if you opt-out, the applicable advertiser will not use any information collected from you for the purpose of displaying personalized ads.
Sharing Your Personal Information.
Wikiful only shares your personal information with others in the following circumstances:
- As described above
- As required by law enforcement agencies
- As we, in our sole judgment, deem necessary to investigate a breach of security
If the Company becomes involved in a merger or acquisition or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, we will provide notice to you, via an update to this policy, of any personal information to be transferred and/or subject to a different policy.
We may also share with third parties aggregated, non-personal information, such as the number of new user registrations over a specific time period or the number of wikis created.
How Do I Change What Information I’ve Provided?
You can update your wiki content and privacy settings on the site at any time.
How Do I Remove My Information?
If you delete your wiki, close your account, or if your subscription lapses, Wikiful will retain your wiki content in a dormant state for three months. If you choose to reinstate your account during this period, we will be able to restore your wikis. After three months your content will be permanently erased from our active database.
Wikiful stores database backups for a period of 30 days. These backups allow us to restore users’ content in the event of a technical failure. Any content stored in these backups is completely purged after 30 days.
If you would prefer not to receive our e-mail and/or mailings, just let us know. You may submit your request to unsubscribe directly on this Site under account preferences. You can delete content from your wiki at any time. You can also delete your entire wiki at any time.
Deleted wikis will be stored in an inactive state for a grace period, in case you choose to reactivate your account, and then will be permanently erased.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. However, you will still receive account-related communications, such as payment confirmations.
We transmit your encrypted payment information to our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your payment information.
