Ninesixteen's Guides to Website Maintenance {{ currentPage ? currentPage.title : "" }}

Dani and Ilesh at Ninesixteen have created various playlists and guides to updating some of the core areas of our website.

Wordpress is a very powerful platform, but it’s also quite sensitive to how changes are made. The site’s layout is built from a combination of templates, content blocks, and hidden code that all work together behind the scenes. If something is edited in the wrong place — even a small thing like adding a link to the wrong type of block — it can throw the layout off and make the page look broken.

It's also really important to save as a draft and preview the changes you've made before publishing. Once the break is published, it's harder to correct, and we don't always have time immediately available to fix the site right away. I usually edit one item at a time, preview it, and then keep going to make sure everything will look good live before I hit the publish button.

That’s why it’s important to follow the exact steps in the tutorials — they show the “safe” way to make changes without accidentally breaking the structure.

Here are the updated resources for future reference:

For the Awards section, these are image and text elements that can be edited the same way as any other content shown in the tutorials above. If you don't have the same number of columns or need to adjust these, let me know. I also have a snippet on editing text and columns here:
