9.2.4 Team Dress Code Standards {{ currentPage ? currentPage.title : "" }}

Summary

This entry defines the professional presentation and attire expectations for all seats on the Nick Fundytus Team. Operating as a people-first real estate practice, our clothing must balance industry credibility with the approachable, friendly warmth that defines our core culture. This standard applies across all daily desk operations, field production, media creation, and client appreciation events.

Daily Operations: Smart Casual Standard

The daily baseline dress code for all team members working from the brokerage office or executing standard field tasks is Smart Casual. This aesthetic accommodates our active lifestyles while mirroring our target market of young homebuyers and moving families across Ottawa.

Approved Daily Wardrobe

  • Tops: Tailored blazers, structured sport coats, professional blouses, button-down shirts, and smart knitwear or sweaters.

  • Bottoms: Chinos, dress trousers, tailored skirts, or high-quality dark denim.

  • Denim Protocol: Jeans are fully acceptable for daily desk work and general property showings provided they feature a dark wash and are entirely free of rips, fraying, fading, or distressing.

  • Footwear: Leather dress shoes, loafers, dress boots, or clean, minimalist leather fashion sneakers.

Context-Specific Adjustments

1. High-Tier and Corporate Client Interactions

  • Accountability: Realtor seat.

  • Standard: Full Business Professional attire (including full suits, sport coats, ties, formal dresses, or tailored pantsuits) is required when interviewing for high-value listings or when interacting with client demographics that expect a traditional corporate environment.

2. Digital Content Creation & Media Shoots

  • Accountability: Realtor, Marketing, and Marketing Assistant seats.

  • Standard: When filming consumer-facing video assets—including REALTOR In Your Pocket Podcast episodes, #CoffeeWithKarim—on-camera talent must wear a structured blazer, smart sweater, or crisp collared shirt. Solid, high-contrast colors that complement our visual brand guidelines are preferred.

3. Community & Client Appreciation Events

  • Accountability: All team seats.

  • Standard: For high-activity, community-first events, team members must wear either standard office Smart Casual attire or approved Branded Team Wear.

  • Approved Items: Branded apparel is limited to team-issued polos, quarter-zips, and clean team jackets/hoodies. This applies directly to hands-on event playbooks, including Spring/Fall Tire Change Days, the Thanksgiving Fall Pie Giveaway, and the Annual Holiday Kick-Off Perogy Party.

Unacceptable Attire

To protect our market standing and maintain an intentional, professional workspace, the following items are strictly prohibited during any client-facing hours or standard office shifts:

Category

Prohibited Items

Athletic Wear

Gym clothing, sweatpants, tracksuits, yoga pants, and athletic tank tops.

Footwear

Beach footwear, flip-flops, slides, rubber sandals, and dirty or worn-out running shoes.

Intentionality Reminder: We do nothing by accident on this team. Leaving a professional impression through our clothing is a simple, repeatable system that builds immediate trust before we even open our mouths to speak.
