It opened in 1881. There is a permanent dinosaur collection, an actual-sized whaleskeleton, and specimens from Charles Darwin’s voyages. The Science Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum are two other museums located in Kensington. Other museums in Kensington are dedicated to special areas such as the Design Museum, The London Transport Museum, and The Royal Museums at Greenwich. Here you will find the National Maritime Museum (Cutty Sark), and the Royal Observatory.

London Attractions
The London Eye offers a bird's-eye view of London. The Millennium celebrations included the construction of this revolving observation tower. It turns slowly and takes 25 minutes to complete a revolution. This gives you ample time to take in all the sights of the capital from up high. The Palace of Westminster, also known by the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, is located on the opposite bank of Thames. The magnificent Westminster Abbey is located adjacent to it. This beautiful building has been the site of many Royal weddings, coronations, and funerals over the centuries. The Abbey is home to many famous Britons, including Isaac Newton, Geoffrey Chaucer, and Charles Dickens.
London Parks
It can be exhausting to spend days in London, but the city is full of beautiful spaces where you can relax. There are many parks with playgrounds and boating lakes. A visit to London Zoo, Regent's Park, is a great way to bring your children to London. There are eight Royal Parks within the city. The oldest is St James's Park. This park is located next to Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards Parade and The Mall. It's a great spot to watch colourful ceremonies like the Trooping of the Colour.
London Theatres
London's West End, which is home to over 40 theatres, is known for its high-quality productions. Tickets can be bought for all budgets and tastes, from long-running classics to new sensations. Visit Shakespeare's Globe to experience the theatre's rich theatrical history. This is a faithful reproduction of the original 1576 theatre. The Royal Opera House and The Theatre Royal Drury Lane are two other examples of historic theatres that still stage shows after centuries. The National Theatre is one of the most recent buildings on the South Bank of the Thames. The Southbank Centre is located next to it, which is the largest arts center in the world. This complex also includes the Royal Festival Hall which is the last building from the 1951 Festival of Britain.
