The animal kingdom is a vast and extremely unique kingdom which hosts an exciting and exotic range of living animals. The animal kingdom is broken down into 7 groups, but we will be focusing on the phylum and the class for this learning exercise. The phylum with which we will be showing interest in with this online learning activity is the vertebrate phylum. Vertebrates are classified as such due to their presence of a backbone or spinal column and an internal skeletal structure. The classes which fall under the phylum of vertebrates are fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals.
