Personal Statement: I have always wanted to help people but until three years ago I wasn’t sure how. I thought I wanted to be a nurse but one day it was like a light bulb lit up. My future career had been in front of me my whole life. I wanted to be a teacher. I come from a long line of teachers, both my parents and aunts are teachers. I grew up in a home where I learned that Education was the key to success and nobody can ever take away your knowledge. When I first started college I really disliked it because the classes weren’t catering to my interests and I was bored. But then the classes began to interest me once I started to major in Elementary Education and I’ve learned so much in these few short years. When I’ve observed classes I’ve enjoyed watching the children and how they interact with each other and how I will manage my classroom. It warms my heart to see these small souls and I imagine who they will grow up to be. I hope to make their time in my class meaningful and to show them how important they are and help my students reach their true potential as a functional and successful adult.
