Roman Names {{ currentPage ? currentPage.title : "" }}

Zeus’ Roman name is Jupiter. Sound familiar? He was named after the planet Jupiter. Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Venus and Mercury were the only planets visible so they named some of the gods and goddesses after them. latter on, when telescopes were invented, and they discovered more planets, they named the newly discovered planets after the Gods and Goddesses. So, the Gods are partially named after the planets, and the planets partially named after the Gods.
