The situation when a student did not pass the first session is an ordinary one. There are always a lot of problems with the first session:

  • it is the first, that is, you still do not know exactly how and what is happening there.

  • in the first two years, they study general subjects, such as higher mathematics, chemistry, physics, and so on - after all, with subjects in a specialty, everything is easier, due to their narrow focus.

  • you didn’t have time to get used to and find an approach to teachers.

  • well, laziness, of course.

Even the paper writer of this article at one time almost “flew out” of the university after the first session, due to the fact that he did not prepare well for the exam. But I still graduated from the university, so I can safely say that there are no hopeless situations. And if it seems to you that you are just in such a situation, I will help you find the right way out.

Are you sure you are in the right place?

First of all, pull yourself together, calm down and ask the question: why did you not pass the first session?

If somewhere in your soul you have the feeling that you have chosen the wrong university or the wrong specialty, this is a good chance to change everything: to think about the situation and understand what you really want to do.

And if you are sure that the university is the right one, and the specialty is the right one, you need to act quickly to save the situation.

Three "tails" are not a sentence

Somehow it so happened that three debts are considered a critical threshold, after which a student "flies" from the university. In fact, this is not entirely true. There are two reasons for expulsion related to the session:

  • if during the session you were not certified in 80% of the subjects;

  • if at the end of the session you were unable to settle with three or more exams.

These are general principles. Each university has its own specifics, its own rules and its own system of punishment. Perhaps, somewhere for three "tails" really deduct. But often the permissible rate of "tails" is different - ask the senior students or the dean's office, after how many debts they are expelled from your university.

Retake or not?

You can try to retake the exams once during the session, and this will not be considered a retake. Talk to the instructor whose subject you are in arrears and ask for permission to retake the exam, find tutor at PaperWriter and start. But it is worth doing this only if you are sure that you have prepared well - if the teacher will meet you halfway, and you will not pass again, it will be morally harder for you on a real retake.

However, if the session is over, too, not all is lost - the time has come for retakes. Most often, the number of attempts is limited to three, but the exact number is best found in the dean's office. There you can also find out when about the date and time of the retake. By the way, if there are still students on the stream who failed the exam with this teacher, agree to go to retake together - you feel more confident in the company. Do not forget to take a referral from the dean's office - without it you will not be allowed to retake.

The session is over - debts remain

Sometimes it happens that when students cover their debts at the beginning of the next semester, in parallel with their studies. But this is more the exception than the rule, so you should not count on such an outcome of events.

Important

You cannot be kicked out of the university in two cases:

  • expulsion is not agreed with the student trade union committee (except in cases of academic failure);

  • you were sick (and you have a certificate confirming this) or took an academic leave for pregnancy and childbirth.

If all the deadlines have passed, and the debts remain, you have four options:

  1. Write to the name of the dean or rector asking for an extension of the first session. This is a good option if you have no more than three debts or a medical certificate. And it's good if you have a decent explanation for the failure.

  2. Take an academic leave, during which you will have a rest, and rethink your further plans in studies. True, for this you need to get a certificate stating that you were sick for more than one month during the session.

  3. If you study for free, you can stay at the university by going to the dean's office with a request to transfer to paid education.

  4. In addition, you have the right to go for a second semester study, but, of course, already on a paid basis.

We advise you not to cut from the shoulder, but to come to the dean's office and discuss your specific situation. People also work in the administration of the university, and they may well meet you halfway.

The main reason why students do not pass the first session is banal inattention or laziness during their studies. Try to do well during the semester (essay help are ready to help you in every possible way), find an approach to teachers, and then during the session you will be fine. And if the session did not go well, our tips will help you.
