1.) Now that we have you divided into groups, we will start this adventure by watching this video The Magic School Bus Gets Planted. Your group should watch this video together. Click Here to go to the video.

  • Once your group has finished watching the video, it will now be time for you to start individual exploring to find the answers to questions on your assigned area.

2.) When moving on to your individual research, you must decide an order for the members of your group to explore their assigned area. This means one person will be actively working on the computer at a time.

3.) Once the group has decided on the order, you may begin exploring the different needs of a plant.

4.) Commanders: you will look up the basic parts of a plant.

5.) Pilot: you will look up water.

6.) Co-Pilot: you will look up sun.

  • How do plants get sunlight in the ocean?

7.) Crew Member 1: you will look up air.

8.) Crew Member 2: you will look up soil.

  • What minerals do plants get from the soil?

9.) Now that you have all the information, work together with your group to be able to explain the basic parts of a plant and what they need to survive. Each person will need to be able to explain their topic and why its important to plants.

10.) Now that you all have had a chance to explain your topic to the group, please create a poster board (provided by me, the teacher) with a drawing of a plant along with the four things needed for plants to grow. When your group is finished, please return to your assigned seats until the other groups are done. When all groups are finished, you will each be able to present what you learned to the class.
