NiRA Has restricted .gov.ng, .edu.ng and .net.ng domain names requiring documenations as follows.

• .gov.ng: for Goverment Prastatals

  • A written request letter from the government body (only Federal Government Parastatals or State Government) desiring the registration with a minimum of two-point of contact from the organization.

    Admin Contact & Technical Contact. Both contacts need to be bonified staff of the organization.

  • Approval will be from NiRA and NITDA to proceed with the registration

  • Radix Requires Approval from the Admin Area

• .edu.ng: for Colleges of Education, Universities, and Polytechnics

  • A written request letter from the institution desiring the registration of the domain name with a minimum of two points of contact who are staff of the institution (Admin and Technical).

  • A certificate or an acknowledged application for the certification from the National Universities Commission or relevant federal education authority approving the existence or licensing of the institution.

• .edu.ng: for Telecommunication and Internet Service Provision companies.

  • A written request letter from the company desiring the domain registration

  • Proof of business or approval from a relevant regulatory government agency.
