Hardscaping

Spaces

  • Cobblestone (something like this) paver patio wrapping from front door down, around, and behind the sliding door

    • Level dirt, compact, put down landscaping fabric, and put pavers right on it. Backfill gaps with paver sand? (Want to prevent plants from seeding in the gaps.) Need edging as well. More info here.

    • Leave a 1-2ft gap between the gravel house pad and the start of the paver patio to plant some plants to block the view of the chassis/wheels (rosemary, sage, etc.)

    • Open question: does the patio need to extend along the whole front of the tiny house, or only to the door?

    • Paver patterns

Kind of like this, but the stones will be lumpy
  • Sandstone (from Kamp) fire pit area

    • Chairs will need to be sturdy on the rocks (Adirondack? or a bench?)

    • Level dirt, compact, put down landscaping fabric, and put stones right on it. Backfill gaps with dirt and intentionally seed with something like creeping thyme? Or backfill with something inert?

  • Dining table / grill area (probably best as a deck)

    • Notch-out the grill spot and cover with a roof, include shelf for prep and space for Yeti

    • Outdoor table w/ concrete top?

  • Raised bed area

Pathways

  • Cobblestone walkway from carport to tiny house (wide enough for cart)

  • Cobblestone walkway from tiny house to dining area and fire pit area

  • Mulch path around raised beds?

  • Trail connector paths: dirt with branches on side?

Groundcover
