Dark Skin Syndrome (DSS) is a term and concept coined by Behaviorist, Researcher, Research Analyst, and Equality Advocate Greshun De Bouse to describe the innate inclination of many dark-skinned Americans of Color to aspire to be and/or gravitate toward light-skinned or Caucasian persons due to societal 'light-skinned privilege’ or 'white privilege’ marked by better treatment, greater opportunities in all areas, and an overall improved quality of life. #darkskinsyndrome
